umm ok

I don't know how I hadn't noticed this until just the other day but why is there a "probe" button on the oven?

I like that it's its own button too, neither a part of the oven controls nor a part of the numeric keypad.  They don't want you to accidentally bump the probe button.  If you want to initiate the probe, you better be DAMN sure that you are ready for it.

I'm still too afraid to press it.  What do you think happens?!?!

uggghhhh

  1. Ok. First of all, that's one fancy oven you got there. I've never seen an oven with a "proof" setting before. Secondly, on the off chance that you're completely serious, the "probe" button is there so you can plug a thermometer probe into the inside of your oven (somewheres), stick it into a turkey or whatnot, and your fancy-ass oven will notify you when what you're cooking has reached the internal temperature you designate. It might even turn itself off. Yeah.
