it's cold here
Just in time for me to have to wear a suit every day to work. Not so fun for my weekend off though. Saturday I decided to stay in and reorganize my closet, a project which was very necessary. Unfortunately the power went out on my block right around dusk, and my closet reorganization came to a halt.
The project was harder to get back in to yesterday, and so here we find ourselves on Monday morning with piles of clothes on my couch in my living room. At least I gained an hour of work this morning.
And I still managed to enjoy some of my day yesterday. I went for a run and spied these bathing beauties:
There are a few things you can count on when the temperature drops. Iguanas are one, snowbirds are another.
Hopefully they are going to come shopping soon.
Oh by the way, I forgot, here is your calendar page for this month:

a great day to be off
And just think, tomorrow I get to do it all over again!
I'm loving my new schedule. I feel so refreshed.

a nice day off
I only get one day off this week so I wanted to make sure I made the most of it by seeing this nice lady. I love her.
I also got to spend some time with Clive:
He's so happy. I threw a stick for him and he ran to get it and then just ran around the yard in circles with it. When I went to rinse off my feet he kept trying to attack the water from the hose so I ended up having to just spray him in the face for a while.
I enjoyed my time with Gypsy, even with her stupid ball:
She would be just standing there not doing anything and then as soon as she would see me she would make a bee-line for that ball and then run right over to me to body slam me with it. She wants to play tug of war but it's not fun to play against a creature with a 195 lb bite strength, especially when you are trying to hold on to a plastic ball with jagged edges.
"What was that? You want to play tug of war?"
"Ok, I'm ready when you are".
NO THANK YOU.
Still, I'd rather be in the backyard all week than back at work. : /

Middle of the week day off
So I finally got to visit Yeti in her new home! The only thing I didn't like was that Daniel doesn't have fresh snow shipped in daily for the backyard, but otherwise it was a very nice home. And way more comfortable for hanging out than the park.
She wasn't really licking my face, just grossly sniffing at my nose and mouth and rubbing her mouth against me. Eventually she just kind of sat there pressing her face against mine.
I love her.
After lunch and spending time with the dogs I did a little more window shopping...
Ugggghhhhhh.

a juicy beach day
It's been really beautiful weather down here lately and yesterday I got to take advantage with a beach day with my friend Mark.
I even treated myself to a juice pit stop on my way. Now I go back to work with a golden tan, knowing whatever happens I'm off again tomorrow : )

just a bike ride
I wore my swimsuit under my shorts just in case I wanted to lay on the beach but the storm clouds were too ominous and exercising felt too good so I just continued on my way.
I went over the 17th St. bridge which I always say I should stop at the top of and take a picture but by the time I've gotten all the way up it I just want to coast back down the other side. For some reason this time I was able to stop myself for a little photo shoot.
I like this panorama I got too:
The bridge attendants station is so weird and art deco. I love it.
The rest of my bike ride took me through my favorite neighborhoods in Ft. Lauderdale. Mostly it was the same old same old, although I did see some Halloween decorations that had gone up. My favorite made me stop and turn around to get a picture.
I love how casual it is. If it weren't for the "booo" cushion you wouldn't really even be certain it was decoration. If you look close you'll see that he has he leg crossed at the knee. Haha, I like him.

I lost my shorts
I came out to my truck after work tonight to find my shorts on the windshield like this. I guess they fell out and I didn't notice? I don't know who would have assumed that the pinstripe booty shorts belonged to the pick up truck but I'm glad they did. I love those shorts.
As for me, I'm looking forward to a day off tomorrow. I have plans to see the nice dogs, get my bike fixed (I know, don't get me started), go to the beach, and do some much needed laundry and grocery shopping. Oh it will be a glorious day indeed.

another great day off
Even though I really just wanted to curl up in bed all day and avoid the world, I pushed myself to go out for a bike ride.
I made it maybe a mile before I hit a patch of uneven pavement that threw me off my bike, causing me to slide across the pavement before coming to a stop in the grass.
I basically slid in baby cobra so as painful as those look, I think I took most of the impact in my shoulder. It really hurts and when I move it it pops in and out of place.
I decided it would be wise to tend to my wounds with proper first aid as, knowing me, if I didn't I would surely get some sort of infection or something. At target I found bandaids that I would have gotten had they been a little sturdier and better equipped for gaping wounds:
At least Nori would have approved when I hobble in to work tomorrow.

senor spielbergo
After an extremely not fun day off John took me out on a bike ride down the beach. We ended up stoping at a restaurant here to get a bite to eat and he told me that's Stephen Spielberg's boat. Apparently it's true too as one of the waitresses commented the same thing to her customer, causing the restaurant to erupt in murmurs.
It was pretty cool. Except that it does block some of the view from the restaurant.
Still, no complaints. It was a nice way to end a stressful day.

reunited
And it feels so good.
Between me working so much and going out of town on my days off the detective has been pretty angry. Angrier than usual. Yesterday was my first day off in a while that I didn't have to rush off and do a million things and it took the detective about half the day to figure it out. He kept expecting me to abandon him, then eventually he just wanted me to leave him alone.
Now it seems we're back in the old routine. I love him and cuddle with him, he screams in my face and acts like he doesn't even know who I am.
We're best friends.

a nice day off
I had a nice day off yesterday thanks to new florida friends that know how to show a boy a good time. Joel and I had lunch downtown and then walked through a park as seen here. I love how many secret nooks and hideaways there are down here.
After hanging out with Joel I stopped by and said hi to Jed before he went out of town again. I've not been to their house at sunset, it's really fantastic.
Besides me being distracted by their lexus and smashing in to a flower pot when I was pulling in it was a really nice visit.
I had just the right amount of fun yesterday which, compounded with my lack of sleep, provided for me to drift off early last night and get a great night's sleep.
I'm glad too because Jon came to visit bright and early this morning so we'll be having a fun filled next couple of days.
Yay friends! : )
