rabbit rabbit rabbit
Meghan already got me this morning but so far that's it. I could use some good luck this month. Also, thank you for sending me this:
He's got the right attitude.
I didn't end up doing anything about a car, yesterday was the day if I were going to. I woke up yesterday at 8:30 but went back to sleep and didn't get up again until 1 in the afternoon, missing the appt I had at Volkswagen. I took it as a sign from the universe that I wasn't that excited about it if I slept through my appt.
So I'm back at square one. The good news is that I can play Mariah's new cd in my truck so that takes some of the pressure off to make a hasty decision. Still, I would love to hear it on an amazing sound system.
But even if I were to order the mini cooper of my dreams I would have to wait 6-8 weeks for it to be delivered, aint nobody got time for that. At the beginning of last month I looked at the calendar page and wondered how different things were going to be once I got to the final days. I was right to predict change, but I had no idea what was in store for me. As I look at the calendar for this month I'm a little more optimistic about how things will unfold. And I like the theme for this month, so I'm taking that as a good sign.

I'm getting this
Ugh so glorious, and I love that it's actually on my almost exact truck. Of course, that one is far fancier than mine, you can tell because it has the luxurious rear window feature. I think it's my biggest regret that I didn't notice mine didn't have that, although there is something retro and fun about the solid glass pane behind me.
The point is, I want this airbrushed portrait on my tailgate. Jon had the same idea I did of replacing the charging horses with pictures of the detective. I do like that idea, or maybe the detective with a whole posse of street cats.
Whatever the case, I'm glad to be thinking on a bigger scale than I had previously considered. Yesterday I thought I knew what I wanted to decorate my car with when I saw this:
Now that I've seen the beautiful galloping mustangs I'm thinking maybe I should get the whole tailgate painted with three golden retrievers in a red sedan. Maybe add the detective in?
Too many possibilities, maybe the first step is to find an artist I trust who can do the work on my car, then get them to do some sketches so I can get a better idea of what kinds of beautiful things can actually be done. I mean, if there's a way we can do a collage that opens the door to adding Mariah in there somehow...

how to break into a 2004 Ford Ranger at Aventura Mall
I blame my pants for locking my keys in the car. See the problem is that they are too tight so I can't put much in the pockets, thus I left my keys on the seat and didn't realize until after I'd locked and shut the door.
Thankfully Elliot and Mike were there to save the day.
The video they made was as a response to the available "how to break in to a ford ranger" videos, which mostly sucked. I like theirs a lot better. And it's already come in handy!
After Elliot showed me the video he said, "Oh and we left you a surprise in your truck".
Thanks guys.

pretty badass ride Chase
The Ranger had to stay in the shop overnight for some maintenance so they gave me a Focus as a rental car. I have no idea what the artists palate button does. I pressed it several times but nothing seemed to change. And it was up there with the sunroof controls, I can't imagine what it would have been for.
It was kind of fun though, I don't know that I've ever been in a Focus before. Maybe I've been overlooking something great that's been right in front of my face all along. Could I be the type of person that drives a Focus?

the new whip
Progressive put the final nail in the benz's coffin so now all that's left is for Mercedes to appraise it and tell me how much they are willing to give me for it.
Yeah. sucky.
In the meantime I had to move on and get something to take me to work and back until I can get this all sorted out and get back on my feet. So I'm a pickup truck boy now.
Incredibly this truck cost less than it would to replace the engine in my Mercedes. When I pulled in to my parking spot at home just now the radio fell out and in to my lap. But it runs like a dream! A crazy beverly hillbillies dream.
And my bike fit in the back perfectly so I'm actually all set. Now I'm just going to put my nose to the grindstone for the next 50 years until I recover from the loses I've had in the past 9 months.

omggggg so exciteddddd
It's like it never got smashed by an angry youth in a Ford Ranger!
When I asked about the damage to my rims she said they were sending it to a tire specialist which I was skeptical of at first. I have been proven wrong however, the wheels look fantastic. And not just this wheel, they cleaned all four of my wheels and put all kinds of shiny product on them. I love how much depth it gives them when they're cleaned up all nice. And however they filled in the scratches seems to be flawless as I can't even tell where they were.
I apparently have to wait for them to return my car to the body shop so they can "clean it up" before they give it back to me which seems silly. Besides the fact that I had just detailed it not but a couple hours before it got smashed it looks like the wheel person and the BMW people cleaned it as well.
I'm hoping that they won't drag this on any longer than it's gone on. All I wanted to do in Ft. Lauderdale was drive down A1A with my ragtop down so all the girlies would see me fly by. Is that so much to ask?
I'm glad I snuck in to the lot this morning to see my car by myself so I don't have to deal with the awkwardness of inspecting it while the mechanic is hovering over my shoulder. Now I can just grab the keys and go baby go.
