It occurred to me that it was the 1st today as I was trying to get ready for work.  For some reason I have not been able to get my act together in the mornings lately so I knew it would be a lost cause to try and get a post in before work.

I'm surprised that nobody got me with the "rabbit rabbit rabbit".

Though May was a tumultuous month I'm confident in June.  I have a good fat cat for inspiration too!

I don't really care for the captions in this calendar.  I think a better one would be, "Hi, I'm handsome and nice, but please don't touch me or look at me"

It's May!  Another month down, unfortunately I can't feel good about myself until after this week, but still, one month further from the past and closer to the future.

So far we're off to a good start.  I told the girl at Starbucks that my name is Benjamin, this is what she heard:

perhaps you noticed that he's sitting in a different spot on the couch.  Watch out world.

Heather's May/June surprise internet gift

Apparently I was wasted when I took that picture.  I don't even understand how I got it so crooked.  I took like four pictures and they are all equally as wonky.

Anyways, I had been anticipating my trip to Sarasota because I wanted to go to the Tervis store for myself.  It wasn't until shortly before the trip actually happened that I realized I could get Heather an amazing internet gift.  My plan was to peruse the various themes and try to find one that I felt was a perfect fit for her.  I was leaning heavily towards the crab but had others in mind as well.

When I walked in the store, however, I saw the section that I never go in and knew it's where I would find Heather's gift; the licensed sports merchandise section.  I embarrassingly had to call Heather and ask her what her favorite team was to be sure, which is a shame because my gut was telling me it was the Steelers.  I was just too afraid of getting the wrong team and ruining the whole fun of it.

Once I established that she was in fact a die hard Steelers fan it was only a matter of picking out just the right one for her.  With no help from Dan, the scene unfolded a little like this:




Especially the part where we all spoke in Spanish with English subtitles.  The only difference is that I was obviously the blonde nazi woman.

Hopefully I didn't choose poorly, I think Heather liked her gift.  I don't think she has fully grasped the amazingness that is a Tervis Tumbler but she has time.  It only takes a few uses before you're hooked.

It was only supposed to be her May internet gift but thanks to the ridiculous cost of NFL licensing it ended up being her May/June internet gift.  That gives me plenty of time to plan the next one.  I can't believe it won't be until July, it seems so far away and yet right around the corner.

I can't believe I almost missed this post entirely.  I forgot all about it being the 1st until Meghan texted me this morning and then I forgot again until just now.  

Been all over the place the past couple days, trying to get things in order.  Will write more and post pictures when I can get everything organized.  

Wow, it's May!  And look at this hussy. 

I don't remember Barbie wearing so many sweeping ball gowns.  I hope we get some more modern outfits for the summer.

I kinda wish I had used this one for last month's, but I like the one I chose for last month too.  I just found this one this morning and couldn't resist.  I LOVE HIS LITTLE FACE!  And that he is just sitting there like all the other bunnies, just being nice.

I know I say this every month but I can't believe it's (insert current month here)!!  Can you?  It seems like just yesterday that it was (insert previous month here).  Wow how time flies.

I have absolutely nothing written on my calendar for the entire month so far except for "flea meds" on the 24th.  That's for the detective, not me, in case you were wondering.  It actually specified on the flea meds that they were not to be used on humans, which scares me.  It scares me as much as the fact that the flea meds were prescription.  How do you abuse flea medication?  Snort it?  When in doubt, snort it.

I do have my charleston/lake lure trip on the horizon, but I don't know when anything is actually happening so I have resisted writing anything on my calendar.  I guess I could put down my appt I have to get new tires on my car this monday.  Now I feel important!

While I go organize my life for the month, or walk to starbucks so I can see all my nice doggy friends along the way, you can enjoy this month's Barbie:

She's not my favorite, to be honest, but she is trying bless her heart.  For one I don't care for her zombie queen of the undead makeup look somebody did on her, and for two I don't care for the school of tyra banks broke down doll posing.  The dress is unremarkable, and what is she carrying a beach towel?  I was hoping for something a little more spring chic, though I do like that she's wearing her signature color again.  I think it's just a little too much, but maybe it will grow on me in the coming weeks.  For now, I'm off to get coffee.
