it's so glorious

I finally bit the bullet and signed myself up for tv and internet this week and, by some miracle, it was delivered today on my day off.  It took me longer than expected to get it all up and running but I am now completely connected.  Laptop, computer, and cell phone are synchronized.  Non stop reruns of the Simpsons and Family Guy playing while I finished cleaning up.

I'm all ready for Kim to come!!!

forgive me internet for I have sinned

It has been 4 days since my last confession.  I just completely lost track of time, been on vacation mentally and physically.

It doesn't help that I can't get online at my dad's with my laptop either.  If anybody is good at the internets and can help me it would be much appreciated.

I'm in Florida now, I should be planning Thanksgiving but instead I have been spending every waking moment playing this.  My brother convinced my father to get a playstation a couple years ago and has pretty much sat unused since.  The first night I was here my brother suggested I go online and buy a game that he has so we could play against each other online.

Thus began a task far more arduous than I was prepared to undertake.  First I had to set up an account for my father on his playstation, which wasn't terribly hard but did involve that annoying "choose your screen name" part where you have to keep trying different variations on every possible name you can think of.  Of course this wasn't a name for me that I could just do whatever either, this was a name for my father so I had to try to come up with something acceptable.

Once I got that all sat up I was finally ready to find a game and purchase it.  At this point I have to enter his credit card information to add to the cart.  Apparently their system is hyper sensitive and kept telling me that my information didn't match their records.  After numerous unsuccessful attempts to figure out how the billing address appears on my father's credit card statement they finally locked me out entirely.

Now my father is freaking out because he thinks that I got his credit card cancelled, so I have to call sony customer service to figure out what the next step is.  Cut to me now driving to Walmart in the dead of night to buy a gift card.

The moral of the story is that the only denomination of gift card that they had was $50 so by the time I actually got home and got everything set up I figured I deserved to get two games.

And that's my excuse for why I haven't done a blog post in the past four days.  Because I've been playing my brother online at streetfighter in between murdering bengal tigers while wearing my favorite pair of booty shorts.

Well that's not entirely true.  There have been trips to the beach and things like that, and I even have pictures I swear!

Just have a little faith.

yay! Happy $10!!!

I searched for "$10.00" in google images and not a single image that came up made any sense.  I was expecting at least some photos of ten dollar bills but there wasn't even anything close to money on the whole first page.  It was all pictures like this one above.

However, once I let it settled I decided that i like this picture.  It's how I would like people to imagine me to be when I'm working on my blog.  Just a hard working woman trying to juggle my blog, my rape van, the time, and yes, even the world.  All with a smile on my face and my head in the clouds.

Anyways, I broke $10.00 on my blog today!!!!! I can't believe it, I really feel like it was just yesterday that I was oohing and ahhing over my first nickel, I can't believe I'm already in the double digit dollars!!!!

Thank you to everyone who continues to come to my blog and support me.  It really means a lot.

party for ariel

The instructions for the party were to bring a food that you think Ariel would like.  There's only one food I know for sure that Ariel loves and that's Jameson so I bought her some flowers and whiskey and called it a night.

I had such a fun night, we had a cavalcade of stars visit us on old 100th st., it was just like the parties we used to have in college.

I think the kitties were freaked out by all the people and noise, at some point I went in to my room to change the music and discovered them huddled together on my bed.

the picture ended up blurry because they didn't want their love captured on camera, but it was pretty adorable.

This party was the first time that I've been at an event with one of my blog friends so I have to do a link to her blog in hopes that she will also write something about the party and then everyone will realize that I really do have friends.  So check out Kim's blog: http://welookawesome.wordpress.com/

I did get kind of riled up (maybe it was the Jameson) when the neighbors came and asked us to turn down our music.  I mean, now in the light of day I guess it wasn't that big a deal, they asked nicely and we obliged and it wasn't really an issue, but it still annoys me a little bit.  I mean, I just feel like our apt building is a shit hole, and even though they have been busy remodeling the apts as soon as people leave so that they are fancy and whatever, it doesn't change the fact that the neighborhood still sucks.  I have to figure out ways to drown out the sounds of construction that happen literally around the clock, not to mention the music and blaring tvs from other people's apts in our building and the buildings around us.  Not only that, we also live in NYC where you are constantly on top of and surrounded by lots of other people.  I know there is no harm in asking, and that's all they did, but it just irritates me.  It's not like we have rager parties every other night that's constantly keeping them up, that's probably the first party we've had at the apt since Ariel's last birthday party.

i'm done with my rant, thanks for listening

still no internet

I did a google image search for "no internet" and this picture came up amongst the results. Why? I'm not sure. I guess there definitely isn't any internet in that picture.

So anyways, we still don't have any internet or cable at home, thanks Time Warner Cable. Ariel has continued to rage at them over the phone but still hasn't really gotten anywhere. Apparently the other day she finally reached a woman who told her it was "the end of the line", that there was nobody else at Time Warner that she could be transferred to.

There should be a way that I can post from my phone but I still can't figure it out, and even Craig the google king couldn't help me figure it out. They did send me something about an upgrade that might install flash player on my phone which would be awesome. That's going to be my project for work once I get through all the backed up posts that I have from over the weekend.
