I really wanted to do this
I got an email over a week ago about how Wendy Williams was going to have people on her show cut their hair to donate during the month of October.
It would have been so perfect! I'm sad that my October is going to be too busy with other things for me to make a trip up to NYC to get my luscious locks cut.
I'm still planning on cutting my hair soon, it's just something that's gone to the back burner for now. And while it goes on the back burner it continues to grow and grow and grow. Seriously, I have so much hair now. I need some tips on how to put it up.

uh oh pt 2
I've been on quite the rollercoaster of emotions with this cat over the past 12 hours.
So I took a walk yesterday, thinking I might end up at Starbucks for an after dinner coffee though I never made it. I got about 3 quarters of the way there when I started getting blisters and had to turn around, but that is really neither here nor there. The point is that on my way back I passed by a sign on a phone pole asking if anybody had seen their lost cat that describes this little guy perfectly.
Of course I didn't bring my phone with me on my walk so I had no way to even write the number down, and the cat had still been running around outside because we didn't k now what else to do with it. Now that I knew it was somebody's pet I was anxious to get home and see if I could catch him and then call them and make their day.
So sure enough last night at dusk the detective starts creeping around all the windows looking outside and making weird noises. I went outside and this little guy came running right up and I was so excited. So I brought him inside and set him up with some food and water while Scott drove down to the sign to call them and tell them we had their cat.
I snapped these pictures last night to send to them to confirm that it really was their cat before I tried to wrangle it in to the carrier. This one is my absolute favorite, it's after he had eaten and could finally relax:
: (
so happy.
So anyways, i'm sitting at home watching dancing with the stars (I voted for wendy) and taking pictures of this little guy and trying to enjoy spending time with him before I take him back to his home. Until Scott comes back and tells me that he called the number and the woman said it definitely wasn't her cat. She wasn't even interested in seeing the pictures I took, she just said it wasn't her cat.
First of all, how is that possible. The description said tiger striped cat with white chest and paws and it was in our neighborhood. How many cats like that are running around? It makes me sad because it makes me feel like it's some horrible mother who didn't want the kitten she had bought for her kids after it started to grow up so she got rid of it but then the kids were sad so she made a sign up but never intended to actually take the cat back.
: (
Or maybe it's really not her cat. Either way I've really opened a can of worms now by letting this cat in the house. What am I supposed to do now! Uggghhhh.

a trip down memory lane
Now that I have my computer hooked up to speakers I can use the different playlists I have for yoga. This morning I decided to do my upbeat playlist which ended up making me crack up over and over remembering things that I've done with Jon.
The first song that jumped out at me and made me laugh was this:
Now the important thing to think about besides just how amazing this song is, is that Jon and I were actually in the audience, watching this glory taking place live in front of our eyes. According to the youtube notes this performance was on April 22nd of last year, which sounds about right. I mean I remember going, I just don't really remember why we went or if we chose this show for a specific reason or what. Wendy's other guest was Brandy so we might have gone for that but I don't know. Either way I remember being hypnotized by her dancers and Jon making fun of me.
What I've come to love about the song is that it works for a workout song. Besides being uptempo and fun, it's all about "releasing me" so I find it's good to listen to when you're hitting the wall. You want to stop but you just can't, your body won't let you. Reeeeeleeeeeeeaaaaaaase meeeeeeeee.
Of course today it was hopeless because as soon as it came on I immediately just thought about that weird day and seeing that show and everything. Then it didn't help that the next song that came on was Britney's gimme more, which made me think of when Jon took me to see this:
We were standing about that close, of course not at Madison Square Gardens, we were in Salt Lake City Utah, but still it was pretty amazing. Even just re-watching it now reminds me of how fun it was and makes me want to see it again. Make fun if you want.
Of course this also reminds me of that trip in general which was ridiculous. Staying at a hotel in Salt Lake City, getting in a fist fight with some girl in the audience of the show, having to spend the entire next day in Las Vegas with no money. So many memories. And it was all worth it too because the concert was off the chain! And I still think of it and smile even when I just hear one of the songs she did in that show, like gimme more.
Anyways, as you can tell I'm still enjoying having my music played through speakers that work. I went to the sound place yesterday and talked to them about my options for fixing my car and it looked grim. I might just have to continue to enjoy the song of the road for a while.

poo poo patrol?
In high school we had a really crazy science teacher who made us learn all of the scientific names for shells, among many other random things. We were at a Florida zoo and they had a shell collection in the gift shop. When I saw this I had so many memories come flooding back. For some reason this teacher would refer to detention as "poo poo patrol" and would cordon off a corner of the dry erase board and label it "P3" (p cubed). If you did anything wrong, or if he was feeling uppity at you for no reason at all, your name would get put in the box for poo poo patrol.
He was my homeroom teacher in 9th grade and one morning some middle school kids were reading their poetry during the morning announcements. Somebody sitting next to me made me laugh and he thought I was laughing at their poetry so he gave me poo poo patrol. It was the only time I ever had it. I had to stay after school and pick up trash from the student parking lot with Joel Hamilton. I remember we found a condom.
This teacher would also frequently remind us that men could get breast cancer too, and then to emphasize the point would gently cup his man boobs.
If you want to get an idea of what he was like just imagine Wendy Williams as a middle aged french canadian man. I'm not kidding, they are pretty much exactly the same person.
