what's this about?

I couldn't decide if it was intentionally this color or if the bumper had a protective plastic layer that the owner had left on for safety.

The purple/pink is kind of nice, but I didn't see it anywhere else on the car.  It's not like the front bumper was also accented.

I'm confused.  Is this the style now?  Is this what the kids are doing.  Am I supposed to get my bumper color changed now?
