just have to wait one more day
Tomorrow I will be waking up bright and early to go get my new car!!
Special thanks to Daniel for spending the day with me at the DMV and elsewhere. My favorite part was when the power went out and the guy behind the window got a look of panic on his face before looking at the computer and saying, "oh, ok, no, it's still there".
But I think I've done everything by the book and I will be able to drive off the lot tomorrow with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. Also on my sick new sound system. : ) : ) : )

almost have a new car
Of course this is the dealership I ended up getting my car from. The mini/bmw/bentley/rolls royce dealership of Miami.
I was originally looking at mini's in Ft. Lauderdale where it was respectably the mini/bmw dealership. Mini was still on the low end but given that the dealership one town north is the mini/volkswagen dealership I didn't have any reason to expect that Miami would be this big of a price jump. They wouldn't even valet park my truck!
My awesome sales guy Rodney came in special just for me even though it was his day off so while I waited for him I decided to check out their inventory. Somehow I had been so dazzled by the super cars I completely overlooked this:
Allegedly it belonged to a stripper. The pink is covering white. It is definitely a hot car, I just think I would stick with the white. Almost everyone I showed it to has loved it, and I've been surprised by the people who think I would actually have bought that for myself. I bet it smells like Britney Spears perfume inside.
I did sign all the paperwork for my new ride while I was there, unfortunately there were too many pieces of the puzzle that had to fall in to place before I can drive it away. In the meantime, my truck continues to give me trouble, making me feel totally justified in spending WAY TOO MUCH MONEY on a really awesome new car. But really, just knowing that I can get myself to work and back is worth it.
My fantasy is that I will be able to take ownership of my new car tomorrow but I have a feeling it will more likely be Friday morning. Tomorrow morning will be consumed with transferring the title of my truck to Daniel before I have to be at work at 9.
These days are an extreme test in patience. As if I haven't been thinking about this and planning it for long enough, to be so close to the end is driving me nuts. Special thanks to Joe and Daniel for giving me rides to work in the meantime.
Speaking of, I need to go to bed. It won't be long before Daniel is rapping at my chamber door.

the things I do for Yeti
I dedicated my day today to doing yard work for Daniel, which really means doing yard work for Yeti. It makes me happy to know that I can provide her with a safe well manicured environment to live in, an environment suitable for princess Yeti.
Gary gave her a tiny piece of asparagus which occupied her for quite a while. For Some reason she insisted on chewing it but since it was so small that proved extremely difficult.
Jonathan said I was being mean for taking pictures of her and not helping her. WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?! Chew it for her?
Trust me, if I could have done anything I would have but this was her journey.
I never stuck around to see what happened. I'm assuming she finally ate it, I could only watch her struggle for so long.
I love her.

it begins
I'm actually doing it! I was awake when it was still dark and made it to the beach in time to see the sun break the horizon!! And I've so far resisted the overwhelming urge to get back in bed and sleep more.
The fact that it is the most beautiful day ever helps motivate me to keep going though.
Sunrise happened at 6:30 this morning so I stayed at the beach until 7:
Afterwards I required coffee. Since Daniel RUDELY ditched me for our early morning coffee date I had to spend 8 all by myself:
After coffee I headed out for a run at 9:
Where I saw this:
And this:
10:00 got me as I was walking back home from my run:
And I had just enough time to shower and get myself together for Daniel to pick me up for coffee round two at 11:
By 12 we were ready to leave so I demanded a quick selfie:
And here we find ourselves. At 12:30 and I am resisting the urge to take a nap. The question is, do I go to the beach or do I go to the pride event that's happening downtown?
...or do I take a nap...

bath time for Yeti
Daniel needed the use of my pickup truck (I knew this day would come!) so I decided to dedicate an afternoon of hard labor since I was playing delivery man anyways. The less exciting part of my day involved a lot of yardwork, although I did learn how to use a weed whacker. It was only slightly terrifying, I feel with a little more practice I could learn to operate it without having to stop and fix it constantly.
Once I finished my chores I got to the best part of my day.
Haha she hated it!! : (((
It took me about 30-45 minutes just to get her coat completely wet. No sooner had I gotten the soap process started when a neighbor dog at the fence sent her bounding away to protect her turf. You can't catch her off her guard, even during spa day! Unfortunately the diversion also included a vigorous full body shake which you can imagine set my work back a good 15-20 minutes. I didn't mind though, I enjoyed my quality time with her. And I had no idea that the bath part was going to be the easy part.
Then Daniel wheeled out his industrial strength vacuum.
Sure sure, it was still all smiles at this point. But then the time passed and I was still drying and she was still DRIPPING wet. But I kept drying, even as day turned to afternoon, I kept drying. Even after I watched Daniel give Zeejay a bath, and dry him completely, I kept drying. Even as he got Gypsy up and prepared her for her bath...
Daniel kept saying, "You really want to give Yeti a bath?"
I LOVE HER I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR HER.
There were a couple of times where I saw the look in her eye that said, "I could take your head clean off in one bite". Not unlike the look I'm giving Daniel in that picture.

Middle of the week day off
So I finally got to visit Yeti in her new home! The only thing I didn't like was that Daniel doesn't have fresh snow shipped in daily for the backyard, but otherwise it was a very nice home. And way more comfortable for hanging out than the park.
She wasn't really licking my face, just grossly sniffing at my nose and mouth and rubbing her mouth against me. Eventually she just kind of sat there pressing her face against mine.
I love her.
After lunch and spending time with the dogs I did a little more window shopping...
Ugggghhhhhh.

the detective gets a haircut
The night before I told the detective that he was going to be very very angry with me in the morning, so I was not surprised when I woke up and he was nowhere to be found. I checked in all the obvious places first and when I didn't find him I figured he must be under my bed. I needed to change my sheets anyways so I pulled my bed out from the wall, expecting him to come running out. When he didn't I started to get concerned about where he could possibly be.
That picture above is what I saw under my bed when I looked. Yes, that is the bottom lining of my box spring.
Apparently he tore the lining of the box spring, crawled inside, and made a home for himself. When I discovered him he didn't even acknowledge me, sending off a general vibe of annoyance that I figured out where he was.
Of course, all that was soon eclipsed by the all consuming rage brought on by me snatching him out of his hiding place and taking him for a car ride.
This was the first time he'd even been in my truck and he actually reacted better than he ever did in the roadster. I'm still sad he never got to ride in the mercedes.
He certainly never perched on the door and looked out the window like that in the roadster. I guess he's more of a rough and tumble country cat.
The groomer's that I found came recommended because they don't use any sedatives or tranquilizers. As much as I don't want the detective to be sedated if it's not completely necessary, I also know that he definitely does not like to be touched, much less groomed. I mentioned this to the girl on the phone when I made the appointment but I wanted to make sure to take the time to reiterate the point in person. Mario said I could let him out of his carrier in the waiting room so he could get a feel for what he was working with. In the time that we talked, and I earnestly told him he was taking his life in his own hands by trying to do this alone, the detective creeped around the entire waiting room before finally laying down under the receptionists desk.
"Oh he's so cute, he feels right at home" she said. Oh yes, that's just what he wants you to think.
I dropped him off in the morning and they said they would spend some time with him and see what all they could get done without him freaking out. They said they would call me at noon and update me on his progress.
So I went and ran some errands, ended up meeting up with Daniel for lunch, and watched 12:00 pass on the clock. Then 12:15, 12:30. I began to picture going back to the groomers and finding the staff face down on the floor in a pool of their own blood with the detective laying lazily on the groomers table just staring blankly off in to space.
Just when my worry was starting to escalate I received this amazing text message from the groomers:
with a message saying that they were a little delayed getting started but things were going great. I honestly don't know what kind of animal whisperer this guy is but I was and continue to be truly amazed.
If I ever, EVER, tried to put a jazzy bandana on him, I wouldn't live to tell the tale.
I'm pretty sure he's still in shell shock from the whole experience. I'm sure he will get his revenge somehow in the next couple days. But in the meantime I'm really enjoying the hilarity of how he looks.
The woman at the groomers was like, "So cute! He looks like he's wearing little boots"

teeth, week 3
Daniel picked me up for coffee this morning so I was still pulling at Starbucks. I know the change of lighting makes it hard to compare against the past teeth pics but I figured better than nothing.
I do feel like my teeth are improving, but I don't feel like I can show definitive results yet. I am impressed that I've managed to do it first thing every single morning without forgetting. It's actually become a nice part of my morning routine.
And there's only been a couple awkward mornings like this one where Daniel and I sat in silence on the way to Starbucks. Not that he can't still talk to me but I think the pulling makes him uncomfortable.
Oh well, my body my choice.
In other news, today is my first official day at my new job! Wish me luck!

nice doggies
As part of my incredible FIVE DAYS OFF IN A ROW I wanted to make sure I made time to see all the nice doggies. I tried to take as many pictures as I could and got a few nice ones.
I liked that guy. He came and stood next to me and made that wary expression the whole time. When my hands weren't busy petting anybody he would gently but firmly place his paw on my arm and pull my hand over so I could pet him. All the while staying constantly vigilant. So nice.
I got some quality Yeti time in, which means letting her sniff deep deep within my ears, as well as petting her while she walks in circles around me.
Haha, so fluffy.
And Zeus! He's much more like a normal dog after a few weeks of training. He still wasn't particularly friendly with me but he at least let me pet him which was more than the last time.
Haha, I got a picture mid-yawn. His jowls are crazy!
Such a goof.
Usually once I'm outside I just hang out as Daniel takes each group of dogs back inside to their area, and lets a new round out to play. I tried to capture the moment all the little dogs were coming running out but they were TOO CRAZY!! At least I could handle it better than the greyhounds who were SO excited to see me they felt the need to charge at me full speed. If need help imagining why that's faintly terrifying I'll just remind you their average speed is 35 mph.
The little dogs on the other hand are just adorable.
Haha, he's like, "All eyes on me in the center of the ring just like a circus"
Of course after a day of seeing the nice doggies I always have to come home and spend some time appreciating that cat. He gets very jealous otherwise.

rabbit rabbit rabbit
Meghan got me this morning and I almost forgot to ever do my post for today, can't believe it's already March. Curse February and it's lack of days.
I was going to post a Barbie picture in addition to my "all my friends are dead" calendar that I got from Daniel because my sister actually got me a 2014 Barbie calendar too. Unfortunately it's not all new Barbie's so I was only going to post when it was a new Barbie I hadn't posted before. For some reason I thought this month was the first one but it's not.
So you'll have to satisfy yourself with just this for another month:
Haha I like his face.

I might have to crack this open
I had been saying that I wanted a giant swirly lollipop for a while so when Elliot went to Disney he got this for me.
It's better than I ever could have hoped for.
My concern is that I'm going to have to dedicate several hours to this sucker (no pun intended) if I want to get through it in one sitting. That's why I decided to save it for my road trip up to Sarasota in March. Hopefully I can take photographic documentation of my progress through this lollipop.
I'm sure Daniel will be really excited about this project. I'll try to keep my drooling to a minimum since we'll be in his fancy new car. Thankfully I'll have Ben to do his own drooling and distract from mine.
