HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?

I was browsing reddit and came across this photo that somebody posted of their living room in the midst of repainting.

I'm sorry, that is the detective.  Everything about him!  The way he's standing, the way he's fluffy, the way he's angry.

I feel like this is proof that the detective is leading a double (or possibly triple) life.  I was always suspicious, now I feel so justified.
