Honey got me hooked on you
Jon took this perverted picture of me at the beach when I didn't realize. He said it's me on the set of my music video.
The other day Christina aptly described me as having an, "LA face with an Oakland booty" which I think this picture speaks to. I didn't realize that my ass was so big that it hangs out of the bottom of my bathing suit. How embarrassing.
The point though is that this really does look like a still from a music video or something. I have been trying to peer pressure Tayisha Busay in to coming down here to shoot a video, I am going to use this as evidence of why they need to. In fact there were people doing a photo shoot on the beach just down from us on this very day.
It doesn't get much more picturesque than this.

I can't stop watching
I haven't even gotten over the last video and they are already coming out with another one?! I appreciate that kind of a production schedule, it's how all the greats do it. Just keep cranking out the masterpieces and we will keep coming back for more.
I really like this video, I can't get over how AMAZING all three of them look when upside down. I know what I look like when I'm upside down and it's nothing like that.
It's more like this:
That's why I leave the music video making to the professionals.
More videos please, thank you!

getting some work done
DON'T BOTHER HIM!
The closet in my dad's guest room has kind of turned in to a junk closet, especially as of recently. You can imagine my displeasure the first time I saw him jump up on the mound of junk and then immediately disappear behind it, followed by the sounds of things crashing and breaking.
He's been spending a lot of time in there recently so I decided to take a peak and see if I could spot him. I didn't even have to turn on the light as his glowing eyes gave him away pretty quickly.
Taking a picture proved to be impossible without the light on, and hard nonetheless. I took this from farther away to try and give you some perspective of where he is but you can barely even tell he's there:
It's just like the cave of wonders. Except in his version it's not, "touch nothing but the lamp" it's, "touch nothing but my booty".
That sounds like a tayisha busay song...a tayisha busay song that needs to be written.

just like old times
The show was really awesome, especially because I got to hear a bunch of their new songs that I haven't heard before. It's really silly that they aren't wildly famous yet.
I think the thing I like the most about them and their music is that it's obvious how much work and thought they put in to their group. Like any great musicians their songs are catchy and fun right off the bat, but then when you actually start paying attention to the lyrics you realize they are just as brilliant as the melody.
I just love how tongue in cheek the Tayisha songs are. So many layers and double entendres that half the time it wouldn't be until the song was over that I even really got the joke.
I'm super excited now for their cd to come out. I have had the five tracks from their demo on my ipod since day 1 and know them all by heart now. I am literally looking forward to their new stuff the way I look forward to new Britney or Mariah.
Of course what makes it even better is that I'm lucky enough to be friends with them too. There's nothing like yelling "take off your shirt" at somebody on stage and having them immediately smile and remove their shirt.
Friendship.

I had to wonder
First of all, let it be known that I found this after doing a google image search for the phrase, "I had to wonder". I was hoping for a picture of Carrie Bradshaw looking wrought with angst but when my eyes fell on this I knew there could be no other picture for me. I'm a little unclear about what is going on here. Is it raining tubes of lipstick and slices of watermelon on them?
Regardless, while that picture is worth enjoying, it is not the point of this post. The point of this post is about my blog and how I'm fast approaching my 1 year anniversary. I'm sitting here at starbucks, working on my mac, feeling very cliche, not unlike this:
wondering when I became this person. This blogging person. I get it Carrie, it's not just that I'm wondering these things, it's that I have to wonder.
Anyways, as the one year anniversary of my blog comes up I find myself looking at the stats and things about my blog and trying to figure out what direction I should be going in. I feel like I still don't understand what you people want.
For example, apparently there were two things that people searched for and found my blog as a result of this week. Two questions actually. What are those questions you ask?
1) What does tinkerbell need to stay alive?
-now this is strange. I mean, I get it, I did that post about tayisha busay with the reference to peter pan, but I just wonder who was searching for that, and why they ended up coming to my blog. I don't think they got the answer to their question in my post, unless the answer they were looking for was songs about strange things being in people's mouths.
2) Where is ms. cleo?
-I think this is just a testament to there not being enough information available about ms. cleo. There needs to be some kind of resource people can turn to for their ms. cleo news. I don't think I'm prepared to be that resource, but it sure seems like people find my blog in their search for ms. cleo a lot. And I only did like two posts about her. Well now it's three, sorry to disappoint though, I still don't know the answer to your question. If somebody finds out where ms. cleo is please email me and I will post it here to put everyone's minds at ease.
As you can see I can make neither heads nor tails of this information. What's worse, for all my obnoxious advertisements all over my blog I haven't really made any significant money in months. There was a time when I was averaging like a nickel a day, but at some point it just tapered off. Now i'm lucky if I see a penny increase.
Which brings me back to my point, I feel like my one year anniversary is a good excuse to shake things up. I had talked about switching over to my own .com address, I just don't really know how to go about doing it. I need some kind of internet advisor.
In the meantime, I'll try to keep giving the people what they want.

shady lane
We had to run an errand up in glamorous Tampon yesterday which is where I found my two new favorite establishments. Above is what I can only assume is a 5 star spa judging by the totally not sketchy exterior. I also like the name, it might as well say "money laundering front".
Across the street is the store that Tayisha Busay willed in to existence:
The creepiest part was that the headless mannequins were gently swaying and turning in the breeze. It was like Pirates of the Caribbean meets Xanadu.
I feel like this street is the Rodeo of Trampa.

Palm Springs

So after the Tayisha Busay show on thursday night I hopped on an early morning flight to Burbank where Laura whisked me away to Palm
Springs. We were lucky enough to stay at Terra's amazing condo, though most of our time was spent at the Ace hotel. The condo was something straight out of the wonderful wild 1980's. Almost every wall was one solid mirror from ceiling to floor, and there was plenty of glass coffee tables for all of your 1980's needs (wink wink). We did run in some trouble after disturbing the mummy's tomb in the guest bathroom. Apparently the water had been mistakenly shut off, which wasn't a big deal until we discovered what could only have been fossilized something in the guest bathroom toilet. We called the water company which led to a wonderful friday night of crawling through the bushes around the outside of somebody else's condo looking for "a box in the ground with a lever". The impatient water emergency phone operator could only take so much of us not understanding his vague and unhelpful directions so he finally obliged to send somebody out to help us. I fell asleep on the couch watching a vhs of Pretty Woman that I found in what I was hoping was going to be a liquor cabinet.
The rest of the weekend was spent poolside at the Ace, which was super cool. Laura described Palms Springs as an oasis in the middle of the desert, and it was the perfect way to put it. Laying by the pool in 100+ temperatures and seeing the mountains rising up in the distance. I definitely felt very bicoastal jetting to Palm Springs for a weekend of poolside revelry before hopping a red-eye back to nyc. Now I need to go wash the chlorine out of my hair.

tayisha busay can you dig it

Ariel doing what Ariel does best. Tayisha Busay performed at Sugarland tonight, I had the honor of getting naked and sticking gitter on my body with elmers glue for the occasion. They rocked it out as usual, turning a humdrum thursday night in to a head banging good time. I was pleased that they did all the crowd favorites, as well as some new stuff. Tonight's performance was hosted by a fabulous drag queen, and unexpectedly featured a throw down between her and some straight guys that lost their way and ended up in the bar. Other highlights from the night included a nice doggy that was at the bar for some reason, and a gogo boy who had a 12 year olds body and a 50 year olds face.
I'm still picking the glitter scabs off of my body as Ariel and I close out our night watching reruns of baywatch. Headed to the airport in a few hours, wish me luck!
