memories
It's the 3 year anniversary of me moving down here, but it's also still the anniversary of that strange week and a half I lived here before heading right back to Sarasota for two months.
Its strange to think back on that time and realize that it was the only time I ever really felt hopeful and optimistic about being here. A fresh start, the world was my oyster. By the time I came back in November the newness had kind of worn off without me even having been here. I pretty much just got a job and hunkered down for the winter.
And then there's a year ago. Although the anniversary of that milestone doesn't happen until later this month, so this time was really the end of the glory days.
Two years, one starting out unsteady but ending ok, the second starting out at the bottom of a hole and slowly trying to dig myself out.
One of these nights when I'm feeling particularly self destructive I am going to take a little trip back in time on my blog. I don't do it very often, when I do I inevitably end up feeling like I'm sitting alone watching home movies of myself and wondering what happened to my childhood. I guess rereading old blog posts is the modern day equivalent of that?
I guess the important thing to do at milestones like these is reflect on the past and try not to repeat it. And remember all the great things about living down here that made me excited to come in the first place.
Like running on the beach at sunset.

same old same old
At least all of the drama in my life hasn't disturbed him too much.
It's been business as usual. Today when I got home from work he pooped three different times in the first 15 minutes I was home. I'm guessing it had less to do with excitement over me being home and more to do with it probably being the first time he had moved all day since I left him in the morning.
Speaking of work, I saw the most beautiful painting today at the mall.
It's $8500 which actually doesn't seem like that much money after what I've spent in the last year. I think once my life gets back on track I'll just save up and spend all my money on cat art instead of luxury cars. I don't think anyone would argue that it's not a safer investment for me.

my feelings exactly
A part of me just wants to lay down and give up, and yet, there still burns a fire in my eyes.
I spent the better part of my break today raging on the phone. I have a feeling I can look forward to more of the same tomorrow.
I've forgotten what it felt like to have a normal life.

everyone said I looked nice
Only a few were privy to the truth behind this outfit.
Special thanks to Heather, as usual. Sorry again I made you cry.
I kind of don't know what to do with myself now that I don't have anything to actively be worried about. Can't let my guard down though. Not yet anyways.
All I know is that after a long day of wearing my Sunday best I am looking forward to going to work today in jeans and a t-shirt.

no thank you
The past few days have been kind of stressful for me. Well the past few weeks have been kind of stressful, the past few days just especially stressful.
Yet somehow I find myself weirdly excited for the coming days, weeks, and whatevers. I'm trying to take a move from the Detective Oliver Benson playbook. When life hands you lemons, you make the angriest most disgruntled face you can make and just wait for the agony to be over.
Or something like that.

if you could go anywhere
I did a google image search for "world map with dart" and this came up. When I clicked to see what it was I could not have been more delighted. Go ahead, follow the link, I'll wait for you here.
Ok wtf is that right? Delaware, can't live with it...end discussion.
Anyways, I am struggling with life decisions right now and I don't know what to do. I am going to be homeless in a few short months and I have yet to decide where I want to go or what I want to do. I'm feeling kind of like throwing a dart at a map of the world and just moving wherever it lands (hence the image search).
It's funny how it sounds like the ultimate dream life for most people. I have no connections anywhere, no real ties, I can just up and move without much trouble and start a new life on a tropical island if I wanted to. And yet it's really not that fun when you're actually living the life. It's just so uncertain. I guess I wish I had something I was working towards but i don't. I'm kind of just existing these days.
If you could move anywhere in the world right now where would you go?
