It was painfully slow at work so I was extra excited when I spotted these talons.

She said she did them herself!  I can't imagine having such a steady hand.

In other news, I drove ALL the way to work in green mode.  And I drove ALL the way home in sport...

michelle's nails

She said, "It's my ode to the illuminati".

Of course.

Also, please note her spider ring, with functional locket abdomen.  Perfect for storing a single dose of deadly nightshade.

The 8 year old me would be obsessed with Michelle.  Who am I kidding, the me of today is obsessed with Michelle, due largely in part to the voice of the 8 year old me in my head.

she is not messing around

A girl who works around the corner from me was in my section borrowing something and I caught a glimpse of something when she moved her hands.  I don't know how I hadn't noticed sooner.

Those are pretty much my ideal nail design.  The only thing that would make them better is a 3D butterfly or lollipop or bow.  Anything to render her hands completely useless for any kind of manual labor.  But still, I love them.  The colors, the jewels, the gold.  UGH.

The first thing that came to mind when I looked at her nails was this girl:




That one with the bubble is really too amazing.  Her posing at the end is so good.

noriko's nails

She got them done in Japan and said the woman did everything by hand and that it took a couple hours.

I love the monkey.

Starr's nails

I'm obsessed.  I had never considered such a thing as gold tips, it looks so fancy.

Kim, you need to get on this action.

Laura's nails

Hahaha omg I love them so much!!!

It makes me think of Will and Grace when Karen tells her manicurist, "not ovals, I want them pointy!  Like claws!"

My favorite was when Laura was snapping her fingers and then goes, "ouch, these are really pointy!"

Anything to pass the time during these slow Boca days.  And when the customers aren't around the associates start getting testy.  Since I made somebody cry yesterday I was trying to be on my best behavior today but there were moments.  Oh were there moments.

Just gotta get through the next few months and then hopefully things will improve all around.

Noriko's talons

I'm going on record as saying the best part of my new job is seeing my coworkers' nails.  I never cease to be amazed by Gala and Noriko's nails.

I have to give this weeks to Noriko though.  The drips are too cool, but then she showed me the other hand and I died of envy.

I want to be her when I grow up.

Fabienne sent me this picture this morning of her new nails.  They are too perfect.  I am obsessed.

The only thing that would be better is if I could see them in person.  The gold is so dazzling, I want to see it sparkle.

she came back

Today I was visited by the one and only Fabienne of this fame.  #3 most viewed post on my blog with over 200 views.

And she did not disappoint on her return visit.  In fact, I think I fell even more in love upon finding out that she made her crazy golden claw nails herself.

Her comment on them was, "they're really good for picking your nose".

When I texted Jon that he replied with, "she's my hero".

the best thing I saw all day

These were attached to the most beautiful and amazing woman ever.  I loved her.

She won me over when the first thing she said was, "you are very handsome, but you probably get that all the time".   She also had a smoothie and she kept asking me if I had any rum she could add to it.  In her words, "happy hour is whatever hour you need to get happy in"

Omg she was too fabulous.  She told me the ring fingers are individually placed swarovski crystals so I asked her what she was going to do with them when she didn't want them on her nails anymore and she was like, "i guess throw them out".

All I want for christmas is to be her when I wake up tomorrow morning.

Candy Fingers

These are actually ads that are in the downstairs lobby of the building I work in.  I remember the first day I showed up for the interview and I saw them and I had a moment of, "maybe I should go to this place instead"

I mean that just looks like good old fashioned fun.  I wonder how hard it is to learn how to do this.  Are these like appliques?  Or stencils?  They can't do these by hand do they?  And are they actually the girls names or are they press on?

how would you even function with that on your finger?!  i love it.
