cat in a hot cramped apartment
It finally stopped raining, just in time for my a/c to break down. The super is supposed to be coming to fix it today but in the meantime, it's hot. Real hot.
Heat like this makes me think of Meghan and wish she were here to sweat it out with me. But alas I only have the detective for company, but neither of us has the energy to interact with each other. I feel bad for him but I think I am going to have to abandon ship and go somewhere with air conditioning for a while.
I think my brain is melting.

fall schmall
There is a bit of crispness in the air that makes me feel like the seasons are changing, but then I look at the temperature and realize that it's still 85 degrees. So I lather on the SPF, put on my suit, and head to the beach.
I am supposed to go black clothes shopping with Ana today but looking at that picture I might just head to the water instead. If I'm lucky she will come up here and join me.

They see me rollin', they hatin'
In celebration of not having to spend thousands of dollars to get the roadster fixed I decided to treat myself to the upgrades that I've been desperately wanting for the benzo. I also wanted an excuse to deal with the guy who works at tint land. I met him when he tinted the windos on Heather's car and I think I'd be willing to say he is my favorite character I've met in Ft. Lauderdale so far.
When I dropped the benz off to get tinted I had a little trouble pulling in to the garage and ended up having to do a several-point-turn. When I got out the first thing he said was, "You drive like an old person fucks, slow and sloppy"
He took the words right out of my mouth!
I'm really excited for the increase in privacy that I've obtained with the tinting, but also the reduction in heat. I can already feel a difference, I'm especially looking forward to driving to work today after it's been sitting in the sun all morning. Usually it's like an oven, hopefully now it will remain cool as a cucumber inside.
My other splurge for the benz that I got in preparation for riding dirty is these durable all weather rubber floor mats:
I could have gone with beige to match the interior but I decided to do the black accent to match the dash and trim. I think it looks ok, I just haven't gotten used to them yet.
So now I'm all set for whatever comes my way. I won't need to spend any money on this car for a while, unless you guys think I should get spinners for the wheels...

hot
i don't know why it satisfies me so much that my dad's car has the temperature in the mirror but it does. It's just getting cold in nyc so I was relieved to get off the plane this morning and find that it was still ball sweatingly hot in Florida. So hot my sister only had the sunroof open when I met her, not the full top down.
Ariel was just saying, "oooh i'm so excited that it's getting cold" and in my head I was thinking, "fuck you". I'm sorry, I will never be able to enjoy the cold the way I enjoy the heat. Not that I can't enjoy the cold weather, it has its fun points, but overall I'm way more of a heat boy. Any excuse to wear short shorts.
So about that move to l.a....

unbelievably hot

It's been so hot in nyc the past few days! My father keeps sending me text messages telling me how many degrees hotter it is in nyc than it is in florida (usually about 10 degrees!).
As much as it sucks for me I feel especially bad for kitty as he has the most absurdly thick and luxurious coat. I can seriously brush him with two brushes at the same time and have them completely full of hair within a few swipes. I have brushed him for like 30 minutes and still not gotten to a point where i wasn't pulling huge clumps of hair out of the brushes every few moments.
This morning I wanted to do something nice for kitty since he's just been laying around looking on the brink of exhaustion, so I put these heart shaped ice cubes in his water dish this morning. It was kind of hard to get a great pic of them, esp because they melted alarmingly fast, but you can kind of see the intention.
Regardless he couldn't have cared less. We were actually out of dry food this morning so I decided to give him one of the emergency cans of food that I keep stored away. I swear, the instant that I opened the can he came running faster than I've ever seen him run. It was incredible, the last I had checked on him he was passed out on the floor, yet all I had to do was crack open the can and he was right there at my feet, shrieking at the top of his lungs.
So anyways, he didn't even notice the nice heart ice cubes because he had his whole face jammed in the food dish for a good 20 minutes.
